Would you eat oddly shaped food?
It is said that the first bite is with the eye but how much truth is there to this?
Laura Sandys apparently estimates that between 10% and 20% of our food is rejected but argues it is also more costly for producers who have to insure it meets the stringent standards set by big retailers.
She said: They are spending more time and money insuring this food is absolutely beautiful which in itself is wasteful.
So would you buy fruit and veg that was an unusual shape?
